Travelling around the AONB by bike

The AONB has an intricate network of lanes and minor roads, which twist and undulate across the area, never following the most direct route to anywhere. They are excellent for cycling and the area is well connected to the national cycle route network. The network of lanes, byways and bridleways that are open to cyclists is shown on the interactive AONB map click the link to see the map within this website

Several of the roads are busy with both local and tourist traffic. In a few places heavily used routes are also narrow with blind brows and tight bends. Unwary motorists can and do get caught out and it is important as a cyclist to ride carefully.
